Our Complex Medical Needs Officer, specifically focuses on ensuring that our sessions are accessible to children with complex medical needs and provides an extra pair of hands to manage the session in general.
Cathy, our Senior Play Leader, is a retired RSCN (Registered Sick Children's Nurse) and RGN (Registered General Nurse) she is at the moment supporting parents with these issues if and when they arise.
We realise how difficult and stressful it can be for parents of a child with complex medical needs to go out and will support them in any way we can.
Our staff & volunteers will help to make their visit to the play & support sessions, trips and parties, an enriching and beneficial experience for both parent/ carer and child (and siblings who are always welcome to come along!)
These opportunities give parents and carers a welcome chance to talk to others facing similar issues on a daily basis and share their experiences, the joys and the sorrows involved in caring for their child.
If the journey to the play-session on the minibus we are using for transport is too long or too stressful for the child we will arrange (and pay) for a minicab to collect you.
